Cookie policy
We keep cookies to a minimum. Here's exactly what we set, and how you can control it.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help sites work properly and remember your preferences. This page explains the cookies Forbesy Camps uses on forbesycamps.com and how you can manage your choices.
Cookies we use
Strictly necessary
We store your cookie choice (accept or reject) in your browser's
localStorage under the key cookie_consent. This is essential so the site
remembers your preference and doesn't ask you on every visit. It contains no personal data and
does not require your consent under PECR.
Site performance (always on — no cookies set)
We use Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights, run by our hosting provider, Vercel. These collect aggregate visit and performance metrics (such as page views and load times) without setting any cookies or storing anything identifiable about you, so they run regardless of your cookie choice below.
Basic visit and click counts (always on — no cookies, no device storage)
Before you make a choice below, and if you choose Reject, we still use PostHog (see below) to count visits and button clicks in a way that sets nothing at all on your device — no cookie, no localStorage, no
ID that follows you between visits. Each count is linked only to a one-way, scrambled value
that PostHog recalculates from scratch every day and cannot be turned back into your IP
address or browser details.
Full analytics (optional — only after you click Accept)
If you click Accept on the cookie banner, PostHog switches to its normal, cookie-backed mode. This lets us understand which pages are popular, how visitors navigate the site across visits, and whether it works well on different devices. This information helps us improve your experience.
PostHog's cookies and persistent visit history are not set unless you accept them — see above for what still runs if you don't. We never use PostHog for advertising or share its data with third-party ad networks.
PostHog data is stored on EU servers (eu.i.posthog.com). You can read their privacy policy at posthog.com/privacy.
Our Facebook and Instagram ads
We sometimes advertise our camps on Facebook and Instagram, and we want to know whether those ads actually lead to bookings. There is no Facebook or Instagram tracking pixel on this website, and no advertising cookie is stored on your device.
When you click one of our ads, Meta adds a click reference to the web address you land on. All this website does is read that reference from the address and pass it along to our booking pages when you click Book. It is held only for as long as that browser tab is open and is never written to your device, so it does not depend on your cookie choice.
If you then complete a booking, our booking system tells Meta that a booking happened, when, the amount paid, a reference so it cannot be counted twice, and Meta's own click reference — and nothing else. It never sends your name, email address, phone number, postal address or IP address, and never anything about a child. If you did not arrive from one of our ads, there is no click reference and Meta is told nothing at all.
Managing your choice
When you first visit, a banner at the bottom of the page lets you Accept or Reject analytics cookies. Your choice is remembered for future visits.
You can change your mind at any time by clicking Cookie choices in the footer of any page, which brings the banner back up. You can also block or delete all cookies entirely through your browser's privacy settings.
