FAQ

Questions? We've got you.

Everything parents (and curious kids!) most want to know — all in one place.

Getting started

What ages can come to Forbesy Camps?

Forbesy Camps welcome children aged 3–15 — from little ones just starting to find their feet right through to teenagers on our Fox Leader Course. All activities are age-appropriate, and younger children are grouped and supervised separately so nobody feels out of their depth.

Where are the camps based?

We run at Great Dunmow — based at Great Dunmow Primary School in Great Dunmow, Essex. The camp is Ofsted-registered and fully DBS-staffed. Find out more →

How do I book a place?

All bookings go through our iPAL online booking system — it only takes a few minutes. Hit the button below (or anywhere you see "Book a Camp"), choose your camp, your dates and your child's age group, and you're done. You'll get a confirmation email straight away.

Pricing & payments

How much does a day at camp cost?

A full day starts from £39.50. Book a full week and save 15%; bring a sibling and save up to 30% on their place. Full pricing details, dates and any current offers live on our Parents Info page.

Are there sibling or full-week discounts?

Yes — two great ones! Book a sibling and get up to 30% off their place (so £27.65 a day instead of £39.50). Book a full week and save 15% on the total. Discounts apply automatically at checkout through iPAL.

Can I pay with Tax-Free Childcare or childcare vouchers?

Absolutely. Because we're Ofsted-registered, you can use Tax-Free Childcare to pay — that's worth up to 20% back from the Government on your childcare costs. We also accept most major childcare voucher schemes including Tax-Free Childcare, Childcare vouchers, Sodexo, Edenred, Computershare, Care-4, Fideliti. Just enter your voucher code at checkout or contact us if you need help.

Can I book single days rather than a full week?

Yes! You can mix and match as many individual days as you like — there's no requirement to buy a full week. Of course, if you do book five days in a row you'll unlock our 15% full-week saving, but single days are always available while spaces last.

Before camp starts

What should my child bring to camp?

A packed lunch, a refillable water bottle, sun cream already applied, comfortable clothes they don't mind getting messy, and a spare change of clothes. If you're attending on a swimming day, pack a towel and swimwear too. Full kit list and everything else you need to prepare is on our Parents Info page.

My child has food allergies or dietary requirements — is that OK?

Yes — please let us know about any allergies or dietary needs when you book, and remind our team at drop-off. Children bring their own packed lunches, so you stay in control of what they eat. Our staff are trained in first aid and allergy awareness. If your child has a severe allergy (including anaphylaxis) that requires an EpiPen, please contact us before booking so we can make sure we have everything in place.

What time is drop-off and pick-up?

Drop-off and pick-up times are confirmed in your booking confirmation email and on the Parents Info page. We'll always sign your child in and out so you know they're safe.

Safety & wellbeing

Is my child safe? What about DBS checks and safeguarding?

Your child's safety is everything. Every member of our team holds a current DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check. A trained safeguarding lead is at every camp, alongside clear child-to-staff ratios and a full safeguarding policy. Full details are on our Safeguarding page.

Are you Ofsted registered?

Yes — Forbesy Camps is Ofsted Registered. That matters for two reasons: it means we've met strict national standards for children's welfare, and it means you can use Tax-Free Childcare and most childcare voucher schemes to pay. We take the registration seriously and genuinely exceed the requirements.

My child has additional needs — can they still attend?

We believe every child deserves a brilliant summer. Please get in touch before booking so we can have a proper chat about your child's needs and make sure we can support them well. Contact Kellie directly on 07717 582184 or admin@forbesycamps.com.

What does a typical day at camp look like?

A LOT of fun — inflatables, swimming, arts and crafts, sports, themed challenges and team adventures, all led by your child's energy level. The day wraps up with a big finish so they head home buzzing. See a full hour-by-hour rundown →

Changes & cancellations

What is the cancellation policy?
