Forbesy Camps welcome children aged 3–14 — from little ones just starting to find their feet right through to our Foxtails (ages 9 to 11) and Fox Leaders (ages 12 to 14). Book. All activities are age-appropriate, and younger children are grouped and supervised separately so nobody feels out of their depth.

We run at Great Dunmow — based at Great Dunmow Primary School in Great Dunmow, Essex. October half term is at two schools: 19–23 October at Helena Romanes School, and 26–30 October at Great Dunmow Primary School. The camp is Ofsted-registered and fully DBS-staffed. Find out more →

All bookings go through our online booking on this site — it only takes a few minutes. Hit the button below (or anywhere you see "Book a Camp"), choose your camp and your dates, then pay by card, childcare vouchers or Tax-Free Childcare at checkout. You'll get a confirmation email straight away.

Absolutely. Because we're Ofsted-registered, you can use Tax-Free Childcare to pay — that's worth up to 20% back from the Government on your childcare costs. We also accept most major childcare voucher schemes including Tax-Free Childcare, Childcare vouchers, Sodexo, Edenred, Computershare, Care-4, Fideliti. Just enter your voucher code at checkout or contact us if you need help.

Yes! You can mix and match as many individual days as you like — there's no requirement to buy a full week. Of course, if you do book a full camp week — Monday to Friday — you'll unlock our 15% full-week saving, but single days are always available while spaces last.

A packed lunch, a refillable water bottle, sun cream already applied, comfortable clothes they don't mind getting messy, and a spare change of clothes. Yes. Forbesy Camps is a completely nut-free environment — some of our campers have severe, life-threatening nut allergies, so we operate a strict no-nuts policy at all times and ask that nothing containing nuts comes to camp. Beyond that, please tell us about any allergies or dietary needs when you book, and remind our team at drop-off. Children bring their own packed lunches, so you stay in control of what they eat. Our staff are trained in first aid and allergy awareness. If your child has a severe allergy (including anaphylaxis) that requires an EpiPen, please contact us before booking so we can make sure we have everything in place. It depends which session you book. Classic Camp runs 8.30am – 3.30pm and Full Day 8.30am – 5.30pm. You can add Early Risers (7.30am – 8.30am) to drop off sooner, or 6pm Pick-Up (5.30pm – 6pm) to collect later. Your booking confirmation has your own times, and there is a full list on the Parents Info page. We always sign your child in and out so you know they're safe.

Your child's safety is everything. Every member of our team holds a current DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check. A trained safeguarding lead is at every camp, alongside clear child-to-staff ratios and a full safeguarding policy. Full details are on our Safeguarding page.

Yes — Forbesy Camps is Ofsted Registered. That matters for two reasons: it means we've met strict national standards for children's welfare, and it means you can use Tax-Free Childcare and most childcare voucher schemes to pay. We take the registration seriously and genuinely exceed the requirements.
